Hey GRINners,
The 2012 Northwestern University Summit on Sustainability (NUSOS) will be held
this Friday and Saturday at Harris Hall. It will be an opportunity to learn from, meet with, and ask questions of professionals working in the fields of medicine and sustainability. On Friday evening there will be a short keynote speaker, but Saturday is the main event. Saturday comprises a free breakfast and lunch, multiple distinguished speakers, and open networking. A detailed schedule of events can be found at:
NUSOS Schedule 2012.pdf
You can attend all or part of the Saturday event, and registration can be done at:
http://myesw.org/summit/?page_id=46 Dress is business attire. If anyone is still looking for summer opportunities, this is a great chance for networking with the added benefit of having the GRIN project as a fall-back conversation piece.
We will need at least two GRINners to attend the lunch and poster session from 1 to 2:30PM on Saturday at McCormick Tribune Center. The only thing that will be asked of you is to be ready to talk to interested people about our GRIN project in some capacity such as our general goals (i.e. audit small buildings, provide recommendations for improvements, help to get recommendations implemented), the buildings we've audited thus far, and typical energy conservation measures.
Please volunteer! It will be quick and painless, I promise. I am currently set to work all day on Saturday, but can schedule off if need be.
Thank you for reading,
Andi
