A sad message has just arrived that on the night of November 22 at the age of 90, Yuriy Shukhevych, an ardent Ukrainian patriot, who spent 28 years in Soviet imprisonment, passed away into eternity. Yuriy was a Ukrainian politician, dissident, son of UPA Commander-in-Chief Roman Shukhevych, member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group.
The news was announced by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi. Yuriy also was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
