Thomas S. Grigg 'Tom' Mr. Grigg, age 70, of Charlotte, died January 27, 2008 at Charlotte Health Care. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend De Hillyer officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM in Lawndale, NC. Mr. Grigg was born in Lawndale, NC on July 7, 1937, son of the late Marvin Akins and Evelina Lee Grigg. He was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church, resided in Charlotte most of his life. He served with Charlotte Fire Department 28 years and had served in the 82nd Airborne Division, graduated from Piedmont High School in Lawndale. Surviving are three children, Kathy Grigg Threatt and husband, Vance; sons, Spencer Grigg and wife, Teresa of Gastonia, NC and Kelly Grigg of Charlotte; nine grandchildren, Jason Ridenhour, Hallie Threatt, Jared, Jesse, John, Jacob and Rebekah Grigg, Janna and Colton Grigg. He is also survived by his former wife, Helen and husband, Gene Crawford, who was always supportive and helped during Tom's sickness for the past five years; brother, Marvin A. Grigg, Jr.; two nephews; and a niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lee Grigg of Stanley, NC. The family wished to acknowledge the wonderful friends and neighbors that have been so loving and caring to Tom.
