The wife sent me to Kohl’s to return a pair of slacks that did not fit. I was at the friendly customer-service desk, making small talk with the clerk. They have a super return policy but wanted to know if the size was miss-marked, had a defect or damage.  Of course, I was just the typical husband, not privy to the whys or wherefores. Why was it returned?

 

With my best deer-in-the-headlights look I finally stumbled out, “Just say, ‘they hurt her feelings’”.

 

I got a knowing grin in return.
