As a lad, I had a newt (a little amphibian like a salamander) as a pet and carried it in my shirt pocket.  I took him to school one day for “show-and-tell” time.  Everyone was interested and asked a lot of questions.

 

Finally, my teacher asked me if it had a name.  I said I call him “Tiny”.

 

She asked me to explain why I gave it that cute name.

 

I replied, “Well, because it’s my newt.”
