When living in Northern Wisconsin I heard about a fellow who was stopped by
the Game Warden when leaving a lake well known for its Walleye carrying a
bucket of fish. As it was during the spawning season, the game warden asked,
"Do you have a license to catch those fish?"

Jim replied, "No, sir! These are my pet fish."

"Pet fish?" the warden replied.

"You bet!" answered Jim. "Every night I take these fish down TO the lake and
let them swim around with their friends for a while, then whistle and they
will jump right back into the bucket and I take them back home."

"That's a bunch of hooey. Fish can't do that," said the game warden.

Jim looked at the game warden with an expression of great hurt, and
then said, "If you let me, I'll just show you! It really does work."

"Okay, I've got to see this!" The game warden was really curious now.

So Jim poured the fish into the lake and stood waiting. After
several minutes, the game warden turned to him and said, "Well?" 

"Well what?" responded the fellow.

"When are you going to call them back?"

"Call who back?" asked Jim.

"The fish!"

"What fish?"
