[I was writing a chapter in my book, with pages focused on Texas. I remember this old joke from long ago.]

Joe, a Texas rancher, was going on and on about how great Texas was. When he got to the size of everything in Texas, he said a friend of his owned the King Ranch and it was bigger than the state of Rhode Island. He mentioned that his own ranch wasn’t quite that big, but, he said, “I can get in my car at sunrise, drive all day, and still not be at my furthest fence at sunset.”

His friend replied, “Oh, yes, I completely understand. I drove a Ford once, too.”
