[Reprint from 09/18/00 Grif Net, and still true 25 years later]
Over the years I have learned . . .
A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.
A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
A baseball bat in my hands is worth about $26.
A baseball bat in Mark Mcquire's hands is worth $19 million.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
A tennis racket is useless in my hands.
A tennis racket in Pete Sampras' hands is a Wimbledon Championship.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
A rod in my hands won't catch many fish in the sea.
A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
A sling shot in my hands is a kid's toy.
A sling shot in David's hand was a mighty weapon.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of Filet-o-fish
sandwiches.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in Jesus' hands fed thousands.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.
Nails in Jesus Christ's hands produced salvation for all who will believe.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
So today, Lord, I put my concerns, my worries, my fears, my hopes, my
dreams, my family, and my future in YOUR hands because I know, it depends on
Whose hands it's in.
