State/Local Laws in Wisconsin have me scratching my head. Here are some examples:
1. It is illegal for restaurants to serve Margarine unless specifically requested by the consumer.
2. If two trains meet, neither may proceed until one of them moves.
3. Livestock on road always has the right-of-way.
4. It is a crime to harass a seeing-eye dog.
5. Wisconsin cheddar cheese must be “highly pleasing”. Other varieties must not be “unpleasing”.
6. Adultery is a Class I Felony.
7. No one may hunt from an airplane.
8. In LaCrosse, it is illegal to “worry” a squirrel.
9. In Milwaukee, it is illegal to go out in daylight if you’re “offensive looking”.
10. In Wausau, it is illegal to throw stones, arrows, or snowballs at other people.
Worst law? In St. Croix (on the border with Minnesota and an hour from the Twin Cities), women may not wear red. Obviously, they do not want Bucky Badger shirts of Wisconsin too close to the endangered Golden Gopher habitat.
