[More odd facts we don’t usually think about concerning our own bodies]

1. The average heart beats 100,000 times per day.   Mine has been beating 2,628,000,000.  So far, so good.

2. The lifespan of an eyelash is about 5 months.

3.  If allowed to grow, a nose hair would be over 6 feet long in a lifetime.  Do not try this at home.

4. The longest bone in a body is the femur (about 18”); the shortest is the stapes (1/10 of an inch).

5. Any taste bud has just about a 10-day lifespan.

6. You brain uses 20% of the oxygen in your blood.  Obviously less in some of my friends.

7. The surface area of a human lung is roughly the same size as a tennis court.

8. A baby in the womb has distinct individual finger prints at 90 days.

9. The average weight of cremains of a human is about 9 pounds.

10. The average number of hairs on the head is 100,000.
