A friend in Minnesota called to tell her pastor that her brother had just won a million dollars in the State Lottery. "But I have a problem," she continued. "My brother has a bad heart and I'm afraid that if I tell him, he may have a heart attack. I'm calling to see, Reverend, if you would be so kind to carefully break the news to him."
The minister agreed to tell the brother that he had become an instant millionaire. He made some casual comments at first and then asked, "Hey, do you ever play the State Lottery?"
"Yes, I buy one ticket each week. Why?" ask the man.
"Well, I'm here to let you know that you WON!" said the pastor. "You are now a millionaire!"
When the man seemed unfazed by this great news, the pastor said, "Did you understand me? You have a million dollars! What will you do with all that money?"
The man calmly told him, "I prayed every time a bought a ticket and decided that if I ever won, I would give half to the church."
Whereupon the minister had a heart attack . . .
