As Carla was getting to know John and his family, she was particularly impressed by how much his parents seems to love each other.

 

"They're so thoughtful and considerate towards each other," said Carla. "Why, your dad even brings your mom a cup of hot coffee in bed every morning."

 

Soon Carla and John became engaged, and then married. On the way from the wedding to the reception, Carla again remarked on John's loving parents and his mother's coffee in bed.

 

"Tell me," asked Carla with a smile, "does it run in the family?"

 

"It sure does," said John. "But I think you should know - I take after my mother."
