Came across a disturbing statistic. Thought about making it a “quiz” last Tuesday, but this was just so important for everyone to see and understand the significance that might be lost otherwise.
In 2024 on average, there are 170,790 people in this world who will die EACH DAY. This does not account for abortion or miscarriage. These are living, breathing humans (even by the most callous, liberal viewpoint) from newborns to centenarians.
I expected that India (with largest population in the world) and China (second largest population) to be number one and two – but because of the aging Chinese population and low birth rate, they switched the ranking. China still has more deaths daily.
But what nation would be #3? Must be some backward, third-world nation. Nope. It strikes home.
Here is the breakdown of the average of 170,790 deaths TODAY. And then 170,790 deaths TOMORROW. And then 170,790 deaths . . .
The largest mission board in the US estimated that of the 170,970 who die each day, more than 150,000 are not, by their own admission, truly “born-again Christians”. Since Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, the need to share the Gospel (personal repentance of sin and personal faith in the death/resurrection of Jesus with no works or ritual or rite) is now more paramount than ever in history due to the sheer number facing death each day.
