Welcome to our amazing Classroom Timer Section! We've decided to put our new fun timers, and timers for classrooms into a nice sub-section. These are great timers for children, or maybe meetings, or anything really.

Right now, Id say almost every map is defense oriented. You can debate Fracture but more or less most are defensive (You can see it in stats as well). When the bomb isnt planted, both sides control at timer.

I am making a Unity game which uses bombs and explosions. I want to limit the player to being able to plant only 1 bomb every 3 seconds, the first bomb will explode and then the player can plant another, the timer that I created for this does not seem to be working.

The timer is working as it should according to the instructions, but the only problem is it counts down in seconds, not minutes and seconds (e.g."110" instead of "1:50"), which is the norm for the bomb timers on film/tv.

The reason I ask is that I have been tasked with creating a countdown timer for my FIL's train club. They essentially want a 30 min countdown timer for some efficiency runs with a large (>2") digit display. I have been putting things together and came across this post. If it does use the TPIC6B595 it would be an ideal carrier as I will be using 4 of them to run the digits, as they need 9-12v, and it would save me a lot of time with breadboards etc.

There are 6 pins labelled Remote - you have +5, Gnd, and 4 input pins there. Can use internal pullups, and NO switches to Gnd for buttons to start your timer, etc. Will send a schematic with the board.

It drives 4 x TPIC6B595 serial register/drivers using shiftout, I have made comments about which pins go to which LED segments.
the " spare" output of the TPIC for minutes units connects to the two dots between the mins and secs, which stays on while counting down, and flashes when paused ( you could swap it round if you ant the opposite effect.)
I have put in a " bombPin " output that you could drive an LED to light for 2 seconds ( or a sounderwhatever ) when countdown reaches zero.

So, on my mission, an objective will appear and you have to go plant the bomb and wait 30 seconds for it to go off. If the bomb gets deactivated the bomb won't go off. As of right now, I finished making the bomb explode after 30 seconds of it being planted but if you disarm the bomb before it explodes it still explodes. I can't seem to fix this.

@harmdhast Not useful. Not at all. Thread was unanswered. How is anybody gonna find solutions on here leaving things unanswered?

@dreadedentity Thanks for the explanation. "Does not synchronize across clients" does that mean there's no possibility to show each client the current state of the countdown? That was my question about BIS_fnc_showMissionStatus.

You explained the DE_fnc_countdown. Should we only use this one instead of BIS_fnc_countdown? Why?

Thank you.

Airport security also makes you turn on your laptop. A friend of mine had the bad luck to have his Mac crash on wakeup, displaying the bomb. The security droid was not amused, and he was delayed at least 30 minutes explaining that he had nothing to do with the choice of image. Eventually, one of the security people who had experience with Macs confirmed that a crash displays the bomb.

As ever, plain old explosives are the big worry. As for chemicals, compare the effects of the Tokyo subway gas attack (10 terrorists, five attacks each involving 1kg of hard-to-get sarin nerve gas, 12 dead total) with a typical backpack-bomb attack (London 7/7: four terrorists, four simple home made devices, 52 dead). Only a stupid attacker would bother with chemicals. Real pros like the IRA, for instance, never have.

Well, if you have followed Iraq news you would had noticed that currently gas bombs are quite popular over there. They mix in Chlorine gas bottles in the bomb to increase the impact and make it harder for the rescue service.

The rescue services now not only have secondary bombs to deal with, but also the risk of the area being contaminated with unknown poison. I think Radiac material could work just as well when it comes to preventing rescue.

Reasonable: I really fail to see the contradiction here. To really pull a stunt like the countdown in the aeroplane is of course utterly immoral and irresponsible. But does that mean that the thought of it cant be funny?
For me its rather the opposite. Its often the absurdity of an action that makes me giggle when I think about it.

Once the yard is clear, make your way up the tower stairs to the floor with the mounted gun and grenade launcher. There should be a single sniper there. Take him out and defuse the final bomb, which rests on a crate just inside the balcony that holds the grenade launcher.

Tick, tick, tick-- the Brexit countdown has started. In as little as two years, by March 2019, Britain will be out of the European Union and making its own way in the world. "At last!" cry the Brexiters.
