Hi grid beam masters,

I'm interested in using grid beam to build a modular exercise system, something that I could do pullups on, attach J-cups to hold barbells, hang ropes from,
and so forth.

This means that it would have to support several hundred pounds easily.

It would also be outdoors 24/7.

My initial thought is to use 2" galvanized steel tubing from McMaster-Carr, with some 1 1/2" tubing inside it for extra height. At six foot lengths, this would give me up to about 12 feet in height, which I think would be sufficient. I would build a cuboid 6' long and 3' wide, and join all the edges with tri-joints.

I would also like to attach one or even several pullup bars, for a monkey bars type exercise. Any tips on how I might go about doing this?

Any other hints about working with the galvanized steel tubing would be helpful also.

Thanks in advance....

Hey Peter,

Sorry about the late reply, have you built anything yet?
