No seriously, I can get it running in my Reaper DAW but there like no sequencer for the samples (which sound fantastic) so I'm at a loss of creating a censoreding pattern... simple back beat at this point would be niiiiice, but this sucks. I've used fruity loops 4 and Reason 4, this is a whole other animal.
most people either use a midi controller to create midi for the SSD to trigger or they use the piano roll function and write them out... steven slate (nor any other drum program I have) has it's own sequencer built in
I can do that. I'll have to find the piano roll function on my Reaper. I also have a midi controller, M-audio Oxygen 49, but that still doesn't really help me to create patterns. I can tap them out but it's not as usable for me that way.
Yeah I did just that, because someone above mentioned drag and dropping. Then magically for the first time I saw the piano roll on Reaper... it was a hallelujah moment for me. Then it didn't take me long to figure out "Insert: New MIDI item" which was like double hallelujah. censoredin' censored man... made me feel like such a dweeb... but a dweeb that doesn't know censored. I feel a pinch less stupid now. Thanks everyone!
Haha! I agree about the piano roll thing. It took me awhile to figure out I had to insert one before I could edit it. After using Cubase for years, I am still learning the basics on Reaper also! Glad you got it working!
I'm such a dweeb. I'm loving how realistic the samples are on this censored. I was showing my lady some of the features of the program and listening to the samples with her, and how to program a pattern. So I did a 4 measure drum roll with a crash, adjusting the velocity so only the downbeats were hard. She watched but didn't understand exactly what I was doing until I finished and pressed play. Then we clapped in joy!!!!
