What I'm trying to do is to set up my auto type for the SWTOR launcher (I'm using the Steam version so it doesn't run with administrative privileges). I've already got the username and password autotype working, but I can't get the security key (OTP) part to work. The OTP is generated by the SWTOR authenticator app on my phone. This is my current auto-type sequence:

This works fine in that it shows the dialog for PICKCHARS, but after I enter the generated OTP it doesn't enter anything into the launcher. I've managed to track down the issue, which seems to be the way the focus works in the launcher. Even if I manually ALT+TAB away from the launcher and back, the focus in the text entry fields is lost and I can't regain it even if I press TAB or CTRL+TAB (or anything else I've tried). The only thing that seems to properly regain focus is clicking (anywhere) on the launcher with the mouse. I've tried the APPACTIVATE placeholder as well, to no avail.

I remember things like AutoHotkey allow you to click on a specific area of the screen/window/etc., is there a way to do something similar in KeePass? Other alternatives that would let me enter the OTP into the launcher via Auto-Type are also welcome.

AFAIK, there is not a way to have KeePass perform a mouseclick at a particular x,y location. A script language like AutoIt - , may assist.. There is a plugin written with it too, that may help you too..

Do I just generate a TOTP secret, save it to the KeePass entry and then paste that into the website during setup instead of the long key I get from the authenticator app? Also do you maybe know if I have to use a specific algorithm/encoding?

It is likely the SWTOR authenticator app conforms to the TOTP standard defined in rfc6238 and used by popular authenticator apps. If it does, then a popular authenticator app will be compatible if it supports the shared secret encoding method (see below), can generate TOTPs of the same length as the SWTOR authenticator app, uses the same time period between generating TOTPs (most common is 30 sec), and uses the same TOTP generation algorithm (typically HMAC-SHA-1)

Configure your KeePass SWTOR entry to generate TOTPs as described in KeePass documentation for the TimeOTP placeholder. The entry's TimeOTP placeholder will generate the same OTPs as the SWTOR authenticor app if it is configured correctly.

Now this is a love hate relationship straight off the bat! On one hand, i want to bred my dinos, i like the mechanic and all that, also needed currently if i wanna get anywhere near any tek. On the other hand i hate the fact that i have to sit around watching some numbers for 9 hours, doing bot work really!

From what i recall, on official servers, you're not allowed to use any third party software or scripts that automate gameplay in any way. Trying to use a third party script or software will probably instigate an auto ban.

fill your inventory with food only (+preserving salt if availabe), put the cursor over the first food stack, store your mouse where no one will move it by accident and put something on the T key to auto-transfer whenever there's room in your dinos inv. Works well with coin rolls

Well changing graphics and having an automated bot program are complete different things. One does not do work for you in a way you possibly couldn't achieve. (Fishing, feeding dinos with a mouse clicker, etc.) and the other just modifies you screens brightness, not something within the game.

Rexs are not that bad just feed them for 30min while you write down there stats or line them up and there usually good to leave for a bit do a quick meat run come back feed them up gain and then you should be fine to leave them for a fair bit of time..... Just do it when you have a few hours of free time

I'm not here to debate the merits of macros vs. bots with you, I'm explaining the difference. The Ark devs have said that macros in and of themselves are not bannable. Could you develop a macro sufficiently advanced that it gets you banned, perhaps. Bots are cheating and will most likely get you banned. Macros are not cheating to start, but it's possible you could do something with them that gets you banned.

And since you decided to make a ridiculous comparison, yes. You're likely to face a different set of charges if you murder somebody with a legally owned pistol vs. an illegally owned assault rifle; however since murder is illegal regardless of the tool, you'll have that charge in common. Take my legally owned pistol (macro) to the range to shoot and I'm fine. Take my illegally obtained assault rifle (bot) to the range to shoot and I risk prosecution (ban) if the officer (dev) shooting at the range next to me notices. Murder somebody (cheat) with either and I'm in trouble either way.
