We can start the gremlin-server on a machine with FIPS enabled, however, we cannot establish any connections to it due to a cipher suites issue which appears to be coming from netty but we are not sure. The error message is:

[WARN] [2022-10-05 17:08:01.927 GMT] i.n.c.DefaultChannelPipeline - An exceptionCaught() event was fired, and it reached at the tail of the pipeline. It usually means the last handler in the pipeline did not handle the exception.

Has anyone tried this before?

It looks like this is a problem with the JDK that comes with redhat, there is no overlap on the cipher suites between the JDK and openssl so when clients try to connect it throws this error.
