I was given a Longine Watch by Father that was owned by my
Grandfather. My dad did not have hole lot of information abouth the
watch and was hoping maybe you could shed some light. I am interested
when it was made, how much did it retail for at that time and what is
todays value. Thanks for any assistance and have a great day.

Longine Mens Watch 18K Gold Brown Leather Band
Serial Number on back casing #382505
Also found that it may have been manufactured in 1885 don't if this
true or not.

1) The name is Longines, not Longine

2) You're confusing the case # with the movement serial number. The
two are not the same and Longines watch production dates are based on
the movement serial number, not the case number

3) The production date you guessed at (1885) is not correct because
you are using the wrong number to date (see #2 above). In fact, the
very first wristwatches didn't appear until the early 1900s. No
wristwatches existed in the 1800s.

4) Without pictures, very little can be told about your watch. There
is no serial number reference database for case numbers. Even if
there were, the model names of vintage Longines watches are not really
used in the trade, other than a few models which bear model names on
the dial.

You don't really mention any specific info you are looking for, but
your best bet to find general model info about the watch is to go to:
