Dear All,

I can't find the solution for my problem.

As I write in object, I've installed Gregorio 5.1.1 and Scribus 1.4.7 for Windows 10. I try to use Gregorio but every time Scribus freeze the program and give this error: "Script file C:\Program Files (x86)\gregorio\contrib\gregorio-scribus.lua not found".

As indicated in Gregorio web site I chaange the preferences in Scribus but nothing change qith the selection of specific file 900_gregorio.xml

Anyone can help me?

Many thanks

Andrea

There were some problems with the Scribus tool that no one noticed for
quite some time (we don't have many Scribus users at the moment). I
fixed it, but those changes are still on the develop branch and have not
yet made it into an installer release. You can download the fixed tool
here:

https://github.com/gregorio-project/gregorio/tree/develop/contrib

Just use the 900_gregorio.xml file there and you should be golden.

Dear Br. Samuel,

Thanks for the indication but also replacing the file my Scribus 1.4.7 does not work. I send you the screenshot of the error.

I'm looking into this. It seems that there is something about the file
as downloaded from the repository. I get the same error when I use the
file as downloaded from the repository, but the source file that I
upload to the repository works fine. I'll get back to you when I figure
out what is going on.

Okay, found the error. When you right click on the link to the filename
to download the linked contents from the page I linked, what you
actually get is the code for the GitHub page which displays the code,
not the file itself. To get the file, and just the file, you need to
click through the link and then download using the "Raw" button (either
with a right click to save the linked contents or by following the link
and then saving the file once it's displayed by your browser). Download
the file in that way and it should work.

Thank you for your support. Now Gregory works. However, Scribus gives me a rendering error related to Lualatex and MikTeX. I send you the screenshot of the error and the log file. If you can also help me with this problem I would be really aware of it.

I think you're running into MikTeX's just-in-time installation strategy.
MikTeX offers you the option of only installing things when they are
needed, and it seems that you may not have lualatex installed yet
(because you haven't needed it before). You may need to compile a test
document from the command-line in order to get MikTeX to install the
needed tools and packages.

Dear Br. Samuel,

thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I can not get Gregorio to work in Scribus. I can not find a way out: keep giving me error with LuaLaTeX. Patience! Perhaps one day I will be able to solve the problem.

Can you please run system-setup.bat and post the results?  Maybe if I try to duplicate your system on my VM, I’ll be able to duplicate your problem and figure out how to fix it.

You can download the batch file from the same place where you got the updated xml file, if you don’t have a copy already on your system.

That output looks like it triggered MikTeX to install gregoriotex. Can
you run it again and see if the output is different?

Hi,

checking the MiKTex console I noticed that the Gregoriotex package was installed and I tried again to use Scribus but still nothing in fact.
I also tried with TexWorks but even in this case I could not produce a pdf.
I tried again to get a new log file. I send it in the attachment.

Okay, it seems like there are still some problems in how Windows 10 is executing the batch file.  I’ll have to look into that before I can go much further.

Hello Andrea and Br. Samuel,

It seems I'm running into similar problems in Windows 10, MikTex, and Scribus.
I know it's been almost 5 years, but was there any resolution to the situation? What did you end up doing Andrea?

God Bless,
Adam Ziccardi
