This is a question for those who have worked on the note grouping algorithm, especially on the use of "@".
Why is the third
"@" in g@hg@h@jh necessary?
Looking at the doc, it looks as if
g@hg@hjh (no third @) should render like
g@hg@h@jh, not like ghg!hih as it currently does.
