The transfer order served on the Chief Secretary of West Bengal - asking him on a Friday evening to shift and report to Delhi on the very next working day nullifying the earlier order just about a fortnight back specially extending his service by three months so that he can continue to devote himself to leading the team tackling the pandemic in the state, at this moment of duel crisis - (i) the aftereffects of the devastating cyclone Yaas and (ii) the raging pandemic, is nothing short of an open declaration of war against the people of Bengal.
The earlier sudden arrest of four, selectively chosen, politicians - of whom two are senior ministers in charge of crucial departments, on a four years old corruption case, was an act of initiating a rather covert war.
With the change of guard at the highest court of the land, the move has fallen flat right on its face.
Hence the open war.
It's just not an act of war only on people of Bengal.
It's also act of war against the people of India as a whole.
It's meant to be a message to one and all as regards the fate that awaits in case one makes bold to stand up to the tyrant Emperor.
It's also meant to be a message to all the IAS and IPS officers serving the various states that they must be disloyal to their oaths of office if the Emperor or his Sancho Panza so desires.
Make no mistake!
It's an act of war.
War on "India".
It's only going to escalate.
Even if one opts to back down.
About time to acknowledge and fittingly respond.
