Ukraine: Appeal from Hiroshima not to do the Unthinkable, to use nuclear weapons

It's now four weeks, to the amazement of the rest of the world, Ukraine continues to resist and block the massive and brutal invasion by neighbouring Russia headed by Vladimir Putin.
Almost three million have fled the country and many more have relocated within.
Cities are being relentlessly bombed and destroyed with civilian targets - including hospitals, schools, public and residential buildings, wantonly targetted.
Yet, with the invasion dragging on and failing to achieve its goals, use of nuclear weapons - breaching the huge taboo that had come up in wake of the horrific criminal nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in 1945, is looking more and more possible.

In that specific context, the following appeal - from a former Mayor of Hiroshima, a very eminent crusader for global nuclear disarmament, the call to refrain from using the nuclear weapon becomes so very relevant and timely.
