A.M.Khanwilkar is one of the 4 judges who acted contrary to judicial discipline ignoring 5-judge verdict dated Nov.13,2019 to dismiss 7 review petitions against Aadhaar Act, the black law on Jan.20,2021 after close door hearing in chambers on Jan.11,2021. Justice Chandrachud dissented with the dismissal order citing verdict dated Nov.13,2019 which had referred the matter of Aadhaar Act being a Money Bill to a larger constitution bench. This Rojer Mathew v South Indian Bank Ltd.
On December 22, 2023, this case was referred to a 7-judge bench headed by CJI Dr. Chandrachud. It was listed for hearing on January, 30, , 2024 but it was not heard.
