The following news was published today in Assam Tribune on 16 Aug demonstration against the upstream Mega dam being built in Arunachal. His Excellency, Mr. Pinak Ranjan Chakroborty, HC of India in Bangladesh now must term the Indian Assamese youth demonstrators as 'illiterate,foolish,stupid' as because they are not yet aware of the MEGA-BENEFITS of mega dams.

GUWAHATI, Aug 16 – The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) today staged a State-wide demonstration in protest against the Centre’s move to construct big dams in Arunachal Pradesh for generating hydro-power. In a statement, the AJYCP said that while a medium-range hydel project like Ranganadi was causing unprecedented flood havoc in Lakhimpur district, the Centre’s move to generate such large-scale hydro-power would result in flooding of the whole of Assam.
