Prima facie, that's pure fantasy.
The Indian EVM cannot "remotely" talk to any external device that's not physically connected to it.
In case it's found correct, it has earthshaking consequences.
But, the poll results do pretty much strongly suggest that it's highly unlikely.
Let's not forget, Rahul Gandhi himself has won from two constituencies with huge margins. So has Mahua Moitra. Modi's winning margin has drastically shrunk. Smriti Irani has lost. Most of all, the BJP has lost the Faizabad seat -- the home to the so-much-trumpeted Ram Mandir. Apart from that the total BJP tally has sharply dipped from 303 to 240 -- well below 272, the majority mark.
However, the point made by Rahul Gandhi as regards the ECI being completely non-communicative -- in fact, secretive -- and grossly biased is absolutely valid.
So is his claim that such conduct on the part of the ECI goes against the very grain of parliamentary democracy.
To be sure, the 2024 poll has been "rigged" in so many ways.

Under the obtaining circumstances, use of old style ballot boxes -- as the Chandigarh Mayoral poll, together with earlier panchayat polls in West Bengal, has graphically demonstrated -- could prove simply disastrous.
Such a demand would be stupendously stupid and suicidal too.
