How many of us have analyzed this from an orthogonal perspective?
We all know that P.E. Usha issue was projected by CPI[M] in Calicut
University, Kerala.
But we did not notice the caste 'rate' of this issue. P.E.
Usha belongs to a forward community and the other person belongs to S/C. CPI[M]
created a storm on this with leaders
supporting the S/C person. Party activists did all kind of nuisances to Usha so
as to demonstrate their commitment to the S/C categories.
Education and hence Universities are the axis for
controlling society, both today and tomorrow (Sometimes yesterdays also). Rate
of educational and hence financial, social upcoming of next generation could be
'easily & legally' managed from within Universities. The procedures inside (awarding
marks) universities are conducted in
secret by law, and only court could interfere and cross check them. Imagine how
all a CADER party like CPI[M] can control such procedures. Now you might have
understood the core reason of all the current controversies related to various
universities in kerala. This is the reason for CPI[M] want to take control of

scam. One more issue is that, in Calicut
university 'Assistant Grade' appointments, authorities have decided to reserve
50% seats for current temporary staff. Most of these temporary staff are
activists of DYFI. They were appointed as filling up vacancies of staff through proper
channels 'got delayed' due to official
formalities.
Most of the universities are ruled by employees union
(CPI[M]) secretaries, not by vice-chancellors . In Calicut
university CPI[M] is the strongest. Many S/C category students have faced
issues from this university. CPI[M] 'heavily publicized' P.E.Usha issue only to
hide its actual face to S/C category. They sensed that by creating such smoke-screens,
they can calmly operate inside university.
