'Trump hosts Pakistani army chief; disagrees with India over India-Pakistan war mediation'  <https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/india-will-not-accept-third-party-mediation-relations-with-pakistan-modi-tells-2025-06-18/>.)

After his boss the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar (just watch::<https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKAJN46vPpw/>), now the Foreign Secretary, Vijay Misri, has been fielded to deny Trump's role -- as repeatedly claimed by Trump from the very day one, i.e. May 10 itself, while breaking the news-in-making to the world -- in bringing about the "ceasefire" (or "temporary cessation" in fighting?) between India and Pakistan on Modi's behalf.
By way of briefing the Indian version of a telephonic talk between Modi and Trump a while earlier (ref.: <https://youtu.be/tLu4OyTUgsM>.

Significantly, just the following day of the ceasefire -- on May 11, the Pakistani Prime Minister had profusely thanked Trump for being the peacemaker (ref.: <https://x.com/CMShehbaz/status/1921511016082370599>).

Modi himself, however, still remains intriguingly tight-lipped. (The 56" yet to summon the courage to directly contradict the (far) bigger Bully!?)

Now, here's Trump again:

<<Asked what he wanted to achieve from the [unprecedented] meeting [with Pakistan's military chief], Trump told reporters at the White House: "Well, I stopped a war ... I love Pakistan. I think (Indian Prime Minister Narendra) Modi is a fantastic man. I spoke to him last night. We're going to make a trade deal with Modi of India.

"But I stopped the war between Pakistan and India. This man was extremely influential in stopping it from the Pakistan side, Modi from the India side and others," he did, referring to [Field Marshal Asim] Munir. "They were going at it - and they're both nuclear countries. I got it stopped.">>
