Prime Minister Modi is accusing, in the plainest language, the Congress of launching an attack on the Hindu faith -- in pursuance of another faith imported from an alien land -- and asking the audience to punish the Congress for committing that crime. The crime of assaulting Hindu faith at the behest of another (alien) faith.
And the clause 3 of the Model Code of Conduct unambiguously provides: There shall be no appeal to caste or communal feelings for securing votes.
And the very opening clause itself lays down:
No party or candidate shall include in any activity which may aggravate existing differences or create mutual hatred or cause tension between different castes and communities, religious or linguistic.
Still it goes on and on!
Forget about Narendra "Laode Ne Bhojyam" Modi, the solitary one on this planet to have an academic degree in "Entire Political Science" and who claims to be sent directly by the Supreme Being to India -- "bypassing the biological route" -- to have His will executed.
But, what does it say of us as a people? What does it say of our venerated institutions -- the Election Commission and the judicial system in particular?
