FYI – we have a great webinar coming up on October 12 on new efforts to replace single use food and drink packaging with closed loop reuse systems.
The effort to replace single use packaging with reusable alternatives has been very slow to take off because of the logistical challenges involved. This program will focus on three separate efforts that are showing promise to overcome these.

The program will include panel discussion and presentations:

  • Town of Truckee’s program coordinating restaurants to offer reusable take out boxes
  • r.Cup is a company that contracts with concert and other venues to offer reusable cups for concession sales
  • Reuse Seattle  -Just added an additional presenter about this new partnership between the city and NGO’s to build a city-wide reusable food and beverage container system

Scroll down for details and to register.   Note: this webinar is separate and unrelated to CURC’s equally valuable webinar on Successful Surplus Programs a week later on October 20.

Busch Systems is excited to announce the next webinar in our Green Thinking Webinar Series!

Waste reduction advocates have sought for years to move beyond recycling to advance practices that reduce waste at its source. While programs to keep durable items out of the landfill have found some success, it's been much harder to implement initiatives that systematically displace single-use packaging with reusable alternatives on a wide-scale. That is starting to change.

This FREE webinar will feature:

  • Presentations from several private and public initiatives that are developing scalable, closed loop models for expanding reusable cups, to-go food and other packaging for venues, restaurants, home delivery and other settings.
  • Panel discussion about the barriers and pathways to replacing single-use items with reuse systems on an institutional and community level.
  • Open discussion where you can bring forward your own questions and/or experiences
  • Post-webinar product showcase by Busch Systems
