Dear Colleagues,
 
We hope you can attend and share this virtual meeting invitation with those who might be interested in learning about and providing feedback on new U.S. EPA recycling grant programs.  This session is for all stakeholders in EPA Region 9 covering CA, AZ, HI, NV, Tribes and Pacific Islands). The grants will be administered under the Justice40 Initiative to secure environmental justice and spur economic opportunity for disadvantaged communities.
 
U.S. EPA Region 9 National Recycling Grant Funding Overview & Feedback Session (For participants from Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, California, Tribes and Pacific Islands)
Date:  Wednesday, May 11th from 2:00 - 3:30 PM Pacific Time

The meeting will cover these EPA funding programs that are currently under development:
 
  • Solid Waste Infrastructure and Recycling Grants - $275,000,000 ($55 million nationally/yr. from FY22-26)
Supports improvements to local post-consumer materials management, including municipal recycling programs; and assists local waste management authorities in making improvements to local waste management systems.
 
  • Reuse, Reuse, Recycle Education and Outreach Grants - $75,000,000 ($15 million nationally/yr. from FY22-26)
    • Focused on improving material recycling, recovery, management, and reduction.
    • Directs EPA to develop a model recycling program toolkit for States, Tribes, local governments for use in carrying out the grant program.
 
Notetakers will record the session feedback. There will also be an opportunity to provide written feedback if you are not able to attend this session.
