We cordially invite you to attend the Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens Solid Waste Advisory Boards’ (SWABs) Public Hearing on Title 33 Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) included in Governor Hochul’s proposed Fiscal Year 2023 Executive Budget. The hearing will take place on February 2, 2022 from 2pm until 6pm. The registration link below can be used to register to testify as well as to attend as an observer.

If enacted, Title 33 would have a profound impact on the waste collection, packaging and recycling infrastructure, as well as on consumers in both the State and the City of New York.

The all-SWAB Public Hearing will collect and record testimony of stakeholders affected by EPR, including, but not limited to: industry, municipal and private collection providers, consumer experts, environmental groups, recycling processors, members of academia and members of the public. We intend our hearing to focus specifically on the impact on these stakeholders in New York City.

We will send a transcript of all written and recorded testimony from the hearing to legislators in New York State and New York City.

This public hearing will be held virtually and commence on February 2nd, 2022 at 2:00 pm and conclude at 6:00 pm. You can register at the following link:

Sincerely,

Matthew Civello, Manhattan SWAB Chair
