Dear Members,
A Virginia author has published a children's book about recycling and is available to help with your school presentations.
Hi,
I am a recently published author from the Roanoke area. My picture book, Johnny Green and the Little Green Man, is a story about a boy that runs into a little green man on his way home from school one day claiming he is lost from the recycling center and would like Johnny to help him get back. Well, the problem starts when he takes him home and puts him in his closet in a box. Johnny comes up from dinner with some food in his pocket and discovers that the little green man doesn't eat this kind of food, rather, plastic, newspaper, cardboard and all the things that can be recycled. Then over the course of the next few days Johnny has a huge problem in his hands.
My husband is the Manager of Solid Wast and Recycling for the citiy of Roanoke and we both have committed ourselves to helping keep the world a cleaner and greener place for us all.
Out of curiosity, I am wondering if there would be an opportunity for me join forces with you to encourage more schools to participate in recycling while at the same time I am there reading my story to children in the classrooms.
Please go to my website below to learn more about my book!
I hope to hear back from you and would be available to meet with you to further discuss how we could work together.
Sincerely,
Suzan Decker
