Workshop 1: Greenwood Streetscapes Block Study NW 87th St (3rd NW - 6th NW)

Hi.

Just a reminder that we are having Workshop 1 tonight at the Neighborhood Service Center (8515 Greenwood Ave N, next to Romio’s)  to get things rolling with a block study so that NW 87^th St can improve their streetscape.  The help is all free from our end, but it’s the momentum of the neighbors themselves that gives projects the traction they need to move forward together.   

The NW 87^th St Block Study is currently defined as the entire block north of NW 87^th St between 3^rd NW and 6^th NW and the entire block south of NW 87^th St between 3^rd NW and 6^th NW.   More blocks around that can certainly add onto this block study.     

Everyone is welcome.   Please spread the word to folks on both sides of the street and around your blocks & across your alleys.  Let us know how we can help with that.  Once we get some momentum with the block study, it would be great for a few people to host “info boxes” in their yard where neighbors can grab flyers, updates, etc. or learn how they can join in. 

The purpose of this first workshop is to share information, provide a forum for discussion, and utilize our professional volunteers as facilitators and scribes in the exchange of information so that blocks can make progress toward whatever streetscape projects they decide to get involved in.   It’s a starting point for developing a block plan that neighbors can implement over time.  New people can add into the group at any time and the closer to full participation on blocks the better.  All ideas are welcome as are all points of view.    

Please feel free to drop in tonight even if this isn’t your block area because tonight’s workshop is a prototype of one that we are honing to use throughout Greenwood to help people get safer streets and walkable streetscapes.

Kate, I wanted to attend last night but my schedule was too full.  I have the meeting night for our block as the 21st, is this correct?  How long do they typically last?
