got sidewalks?

·       Do you wish you had a safer place to walk on your block?

·       Would you like more plants and green spaces?

·       Would you like to slow traffic?

·        How can you start to organize your block?

·        What are the next steps?

Greenwood Streetscapes can help you

Attached is a get started PDF packets to support outreach about our project to each of your blocks for Night Out and beyond.

If you’re just getting started:

Step #1.  Talk to your neighbors.

We put together some introductory information about Greenwood Streetscapes which you can use at your Night Out Block Party to get the conversation going.  That’s the getting started packet attached.  It’s easy: just print the packet, staple it together, and circulate it at your block party.  Everyone’s voice is essential to this project’s success, so let’s start talking.

If you’re taking the next step:

Step #2.  Move forward with a Block Study.

We put together individual PDF packets and a map for each block taking the next step.  We’re looking forward to planning a field visit with you and your neighbors and scheduling a workshop.  All easy as well and free!  Those packets and maps will come to your inbox in a moment and will be posted on the Google Group and the website.  Just print the packet with your street’s name on it and the map with your street’s name on it, insert the map into the packet as indicated, staple it together, and circulate it at your block party.  We’ll also be dropping a color hard copy to folks who are volunteer Block Organizers on Tuesday morning.  Please use the materials to make more copies and to distribute to your Block Study area.  Call us if you need anything else.

So that everyone stays informed, there are 4 blocks moving forward right now toward Block Studies.  The project is organized so that any block can move forward at any time, no one is left behind and all voices are heard.  These are the first Step #2 Block Study streets: (Adjacent areas and blocks can join these groups, just email us or give us a call.)

·        Evanston Ave N, N 90th to N 92nd

·        N 102nd St, Greenwood Ave N to Dayton Ave N

·        NW 87th St, 3rd NW to 6th NW

·        N 97th St, Greenwood Ave N to Dayton Ave N

We appreciate your help spreading the word about this neighborhood project, so thank you if you can forward this along.  Night Out is a great opportunity for your block to connect with our neighborhood project.  Our project’s success depends on your participation.   Just click on a packet, print it, staple it together and bring it to your block party.

(Print in color if you can – especially those Block Study maps – they’re really great!)

Thank you.

P.S.  First videos that we made at the Open House back in May are coming next week!  Be sure to see if you and your neighbors are stars!
