Hi.
We’re putting together a simple flyer for Night Out. Outreach is an important part of the community building of this project, so your help is appreciated in getting the word out.
One of the flyer versions is for the 4 blocks moving forward with a block study which includes a block map. We will deliver those to those 4 block organizers.
The other is a more introductory one. We’d like to get it to you if you could use some information about what this project is so you might share it with your neighbors.
We’ll get it posted here as a PDF, but we are available to drop copies off to you and would be happy to do that.
Just wanted to let you know we’ll have info for you for Night Out.

I am very excited about the work you and the rest of the team have been doing. I have lived in or around Greenwood for 10 years and bought a house about 5 years ago in Greenwood. My envy of the "south of 85th-er's" has always been over their sidewalks. I am not the most computer savy person and I find the the website http://greenwood.streetscapes.org/welcome a little hard to follow. I went and looked for the PDF file on it with no luck. Is there anyway you could send the file to me on email? I would also like to go to an open meeting if you have a few dates available, I work a lot and have a hard time making it on short notice. I don't know if there is anything my wife or I could do to help, but I would like to talk to someone and see what there is to do. I would even be wiling to buy you or another team member a cup of coffee or cold beverage at a local establishment, at your convinience, to talk about it.

Sorry to not be clear about the PDF and where it will be. We’re working on it this week and will get it to you in a group email that we will post by Monday for you to print from your own printers for Night Out.
Anyone / any block that would prefer that we print and drop some for you, please let us know. That is no problem.
We’re at the neighborhood service center (8515 Greenwood Ave N next to Romio’s) tonight and every Thursday night from 4pm – 8pm for drop-in information. We’re also using that slot to help make progress with block groups. Please feel welcome to stop in.
Wednesday mornings at 7:30 we meet as a steering committee. Anyone is welcome to join that group or drop-in at that time.

We’ll get that file out to the group by Monday.
We’re working on website content and developing the user-friendly guide to sidewalks and other walkable streetscape elements for everyone to use. Right now it’s awkward and a little clunky and we apologize for that.
Over the next 2 months, we should have a pretty good draft completed and we will have tried it out on our first 4 blocks to refine it so it’s easy to use so hang in there.
Thursday eves are a good time to drop in at the Neighborhood Service Center and connect with the efforts of this group and this project.
Email me for more options if Thursdays aren’t a good time.

We don’t quite have the info sheets ready, but we’re working on them. The small PDF maps of the first 4 block study areas are in motion at the City of Seattle and we’ll have them in time.
Dropping them off to the groups on Monday is probably our best option and it’s really pretty easy.

Hi.
I just sent out the packets for Night Out which is tomorrow, Tuesday August 3, 2010. Hard copies will be delivered in the morning to block organizers of Block Study areas.
We’re distributing a couple of pieces of information.
One is a packet if you’re just getting started organizing your block and talking to neighbors which is Step #1.
The other packets are for blocks moving forward with a Block Study which is Step #2. Basically those Block Study blocks get more information and color block maps in preparation for the field visits and workshops coming soon.
Any block can move forward at any time. When you have a few people organized, let us know and we’ll be happy to support you with more information. If you have any questions, just contact us.
I have uploaded the materials as PDFs to the Google Group as well: http://groups.google.com/group/greenwoodstreetscapes Click on documents in the top bar and you’ll see the getting started packet as well as the block specific Block Study packets and individual block maps. You can print (color is better) from there. They will be uploaded to the website soon as well.
Night Out is a great opportunity to talk about this project, so please let us know what you need beyond these materials. We’ll plan to prepare materials every year for Night Out.
Please note that Block Study areas can expand to adjacent blocks so please help by letting other neighbors know around the corner or across the street.
