got sidewalks?
Greenwood Streetscapes is a neighborhood volunteer group that helps people plan and implement streetscape improvements that make blocks more walkable. We have a couple of meetings coming up this week:
Tuesday, Nov 16th, 7pm, Greenwood Community Council Meeting, Greenwood Library
We’re going to update the community about the process we’re developing for helping blocks get sidewalks and other walkable streetscape components. We’ll review the introductory workshop format that all Block Studies are currently participating in at 4 locations in North Greenwood. We’ll show maps and typical configurations / considerations and we’ll describe what the next step for those blocks will be when they’re reached a critical mass of participants which will be developing a Block Plan that the neighbors can use to move forward with permitting and construction.
Sunday, Nov 21st, 4:30 – 6pm, Evanston Ave N, N 90th to N 92nd Block Study, 2nd Introductory Workshop, Liz & Helene’s House, 9053 Evanston Ave N
The first introductory workshop with neighbors on this block was on Oct 21st at Dave & Vic’s. It was very well attended. This 2nd Introductory Workshop is a repeat of that 1st workshop for people on that block who couldn’t make it to the last one and for people from nearby blocks that want to begin to organize so they can consider joining the Evanston Ave N momentum. Our project strategy includes moving forward with a mile of street edge at a time in each area. 4 long blocks like 90th – 92nd, both sides of the street, is about a mile so if you’re on one of those neighboring streets, let us know. We can help bring your block up to speed. Flyer attached, please read / print / distribute.
Thank you.
