Improvements at 15th Ave NW and NW 83rd St have been completed!

Hello neighbors,

We are thrilled to share the completion of our 15th Ave NW at NW 83rd Street Pedestrian Safety Enhancements project. Our crews have wrapped up all safety upgrades at this intersection.

The intersection now features a new pedestrian and bike signal, a pedestrian refuge island, marked crosswalks on the north and south sides, designated crossings for east and westbound cyclists, and restrictions on northbound left-turn movements onto westbound NW 83rd St for vehicles.

These improvements are aimed at enhancing safety for everyone using the intersection – pedestrians, cyclists, people using mobility devices and drivers alike. We're grateful for the hard work of our crews and look forward to delivering a safer and more efficient transportation environment for our communities.

Not completed - but close.

I rode through there today and the bike detector is not yet active.
The pedestrian beg button works though.

Tonight, pulling out of a nearby restaurant, I watched a car go into the oncoming lane, driving around all of the new traffic furniture to make his left turn. It was late with few cars, but seriously?
