Angered that his mother cut his cell phone service, a 17-year-old
Riverside resident pushed his mother during a dispute shortly before 1
p.m. Saturday, police said.

Police said the teen pushed his mother away from him after he
discovered she canceled his service. He then grabbed her cell phone
when she attempted to call 911, police said. He pushed over the
mattress on her bed and then threw the television set off the stand,
police said.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, disorderly
conduct and interfering with a 911 call.

The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was released
on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to make his first court appearance
Monday.
