Hi Green Wheelers - 

May Bike Month is here and its time to join others on two wheels to celebrate and advocate for safe and accessible transportation options in Humboldt County! Join Green Wheels at many upcoming Humboldt Bike Month events...

Tomorrow, Friday 6-9pm the Humboldt Bike Shorts film showing will be at the Sewell Gallery of Fine Art, 423 F Street Eureka. There will be videos about bicycle commuting, culture, cargo biking families, bicycle boulevards and videos just for fun. There will be group discussions with a facilitator after many of the videos. Snacks and drinks, including popcorn and Italian sodas will be available. You choose the admission price. You choose the food and drink prices. Every penny goes to the Alice Birney Bicycle Club.

Then join Green Wheels for a Farm Tour by bike on Sunday, May 5 from 1 to 3 p.m.! Ride with Green Wheels to learn about the Mad River Hospital farm and the burgeoning Ecohostel Garden. This will be a social ride suitable for all ages covering about six miles. Bring a bike, helmet and water bottle and meet at the southeast corner of the Arcata Plaza at 1pm. 

Also join us for Bike to Work Days - Thusday, May 9 in Arcata and Thursday, May 16 in Eureka. There will be morning energizer stations with free coffee, snacks and bike tune-ups at the North Coast Coop from 7-9am on Bike to Work Days. Also noon rallies on the Arcata Plaza and Eureka Old Town Gazebo on May 9 and 16, respectively, with free prizes, tune-ups and snacks.
