Here’s what’s up this week and something to mark your calendars for next week. Thanks to all our member-supporters that make this movement possible!
See you out there!

Keeping Bike Lanes on G and H Streets?
Arcata Transportation Safety Committee, Arcata City Hall, Tuesday, 4:30 pm
Tomorrow the committee will continue discussions and potentially vote on options for widening the sidewalks on G and H Streets between 9th and 11th Streets. The right of ways are limited, so something will have to go, whether it be the bike lane, parking or one of the motor-vehicle travel lanes. The committee needs public input to make the best decision. Discussions on this topic won’t start until 5:30.

Bogota, Columbia started this craze with Cyclovia, a day when miles of streets are closed to motorists so that everyone can get out and use them for physical activity. The concept has caught on in the U.S. with wildly popular and successful events last summer in New York, San Francisco and Portland. Is Eureka next?
