Hey guys,
This is what I got from the people from King Corn. I dont know what you want to do about this. I can try to email them and get the price even lower but right now it seems like we are stuck at $100 to get the copy rights. Let me know what you think ASAP so we can get this figured out and get accurate advertising. Remember we also have a table set up for 11am-1pm this friday to advertise.

Subject Re: copy rights
Hi Matt,
Thanks for your note. We do have a formal application process for securing the rights to show the film publicly. I've attached our application and screening contract here. You'll see that the usual licensing fee is $295, but I'd be happy to reduce the fee for your organization, given your small budget.
As you already have the film, we can reduce the fee to $100. Unfortunately, in order to cover our own costs, we're not usually able to go any lower than that. Let me know if that's still a budgetary problem, and we can discuss some other options.
I'll look forward to your application!
Best,
Caitlin Boyle

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Matt Kostle and I am inquiring about receiving proper copy rights to show the film King Corn. I am part of the small organization called Green Project UNI which is connected to the University of Northern Iowa and is dedicated to helping to facilitate the UNI campus and community area into become more "green." We are planning on showing the film King Corn as a part of our film festival of educational environmental films leading up to Earth day. Right now we have King Corn scheduled to show on Wednesday April 16th at 8pm in one of our campus buildings. We are showing it strictly for educational value and awareness, we are not charging or even accepting donations. We simply want to show people what is going on. We already have access to a copy of the film, we would just like to get the copy rights that allow us to show it. It will more than likely not be a very large showing but we are hoping to get at least a little awareness of the issues the film deals with. We are a very small organization with a very small budget of only a few hundred dollars and so we are trying to spend as little as possible during this festival we are having. An email for the rights to show the film just for that date would be sufficient if that would work for you guys or if you have a different process if you could let me know and we could do that. Anyways I hope you are able to help and thank you for your time.
Sincerely
Matt Kostle
