Can imagine that you are fighting an uphill battle, but who will win those if nott people like you, so keep going and I'm sure you'll reach your goals even if the speed is slow.
 
Regarding the funding support, we are looking at a series of Change Concerts between Durban and Rio, so starting at the COP in December and peaking with a festival type event at the Earth Summit in June.
 
They could be monthly, so we are taking 5 to 7 concerts, to build to the final festival. If the artists give their time for free, we can produce one concert with top producers and livestream on a webplatform for +/- GBP 50.000.
 
So a sponsor could pick one concert or support the whole initiative (x times GBP 50,000 plus the festival costs), and I thought a cleantech entrepeneur from an emerging economy would be perfect for this.
 
Our idea is that any commercials or product placement would have to be low-carbon, like the Change Concerts themselves and like the products the desired sponsor themselves produce and sell. The 2-pager I sent you has the basic outline.
 
You think you wanna put this forward to some of your contacts? We could engage you in this as well and have your NGO as co-host of a concert if the whole thing flies and we have something going that's relevant from a Chinese perspective.

Yes. Things have not been easy. We are moving one inch after aonther inch. Very slow but at least moving.
 
As you can imagine, funding is not easy to get.
 
As to the Chinese solar company.... what level of support you are envisioning? how much money and by when?
 
I have two solar guys in mind. But need to work it through.
 
I can ask around. Dont put all the hopes here though.

Hope all is going well for you and that your new NGO (network) and our various other alliance are coming together nicely. I am watching from a distance how you seem to take one big step after another, and knowing the importance of China in this game I have to say that I'm glad that you are doing it and that you are so effective at it. One day they'll probably make you the president of China ;-) Maybe the third-next or fourth-next?
 
I am writing because I have a challenge for you, and I know you love a good challenge, and I need to make sure you have a few real challenges, so that you don't get bored ;-) We are working on these Change Concerts, and it seems like things are coming together nicely. We now have producers and videographers on board who work with the superstars, and I hope it'll be only a question of time till be get bands like Radiohead lined up. See attached 2-pager for more on the Change Concerts.
 
As you can imagine, we need a sponsor to help us fund this serious of concerts and a festival ahead of the Rio summit next year in Rio. We'll be able to do a few with our own money, but without a sponsor the whole series won't come together. The best sponsor I can imagine for Change Concerts is a Chinese entrepeneur who got rich with the solutions, e.g. a solar billionaire or millionaire. And as you work with these people, I thought I'd see what you think. So what do you think?
 
Of course we'd want to make it attractive for such a person, engage them in the concerts maybe, bring in Chinese artists if that's interesting, to also reach the Chinese market etc. And more than happy to talk things through if you think you know someone to put this to, and to then give you more info for such a pitch depending on whatever you might need.

From business persepctive, it's more like a marketing event (rather than a charity event). So it probably goes for company's marketing budget (instead of charity/foundation budget). So it would depends on:
1. exposure rate;
2. brand consistancy;
3. sustainability of influence.
 
Need to have more information to evaluate.
 
If we decide to get the job, I think it's better to outsource to an advertising agency to do the fundrasing.
