Activité du mois de mai pour les jardiniers...   Nos ateliers de constructions de bacs ont eu un grand succès et celui du 19 mai est déjà plein. Grâce à ces ateliers, nous avons déjà construit 45 nouveaux contenants qui accueilleront de super plantes pour la saison. Une vingtaine d'autres seront construits. Un grand merci pour votre intérêt! Si jamais on décide de faire davantage on vous tient au courant!  Offre de stage pour travailler avec le Projet des Jardins sur les toits cet été !!  Katimavik cherche une stagiaire très autonome, qui s'y connaît relativement bien en agriculture urbaine, ou démontre un grand intérêt dans ce domaine. La personne aura la possibilité de travailler sur le terrain auprès des groupes communautaires montréalais. Le stage consistera à oeuvrer en tant que stagiaire à temps plein (4jours) pendant 3 mois au sein du projet des jardins sur les toits à Alternatives. La personne travaillera auprès de la chargée de projet en environnement/projets d’agriculture urbaine à Alternatives et selon les besoins du projet, elle établira un plan d'action afin de renforcer, améliorer et agrandir les projets d'agriculture urbaine. Elle offrira des formations et jardinera dans diverses locations. Le programme eco-stage offre une allocation forfaitaire de 1 000 $ par mois et requiert un engagement sur un projet collectif de Katimavik. *Katimavik finance cet eco-stage. Activities of May for gardeners ....   Our workshops: how to build a self-watering container, got a big success and the one held onn May 19th is already full. Through these workshops we have already built 45 new containers that will host great plants for the season.   Internship offer to work on the Rooftop Garden Project this summer !!  

Katimavik is looking for an intern, who knows quite well urban agriculture, or/and shows great interest in this area. The person will have the opportunity to work on the ground with community groups in Montreal on urban agriculture projects. The internship will be to work as full-time (4days) intern for 3 months at the Rooftop Garden Project of Alternatives. He /she will work with the project manager of environmental/urban agriculture projects at Alternatives and depending on the needs of the project, she or he will establish an action plan to strengthen, improve and expand the project urban agriculture projects in the community. The intern will also offer workshops and garden in different locations in Montreal.

The eco-stage program offer a lump sum of $ 1 000 per month and requires a commitment to a collective project of Katimavik one day per week. * Katimavik is funding this eco-STAG.

This event is organized in co-operation with the Friends of the Montréal Botanical Garden and representatives of the horticultural industry in Quebec, and offers a wide variety of attractions for green thumbs of all ages. Our Great Gardening Weekend is also a superb opportunity to stock up on plants of all kinds. Growers from across Québec will be on hand, offering the most recent varieties and some of their rarest plant specimens.  The Montréal Botanical Garden itself will even be selling some new, rare and forgotten plants - a chance to make some terrific discoveries!
