Humboldt's First Sustainability Coordinator

Well, I am pleased to (finally!) announce that TallChief Comet, TC for short, will be HSU's first Sustainability Coordinator!  I would like us (as the Coalition) to host a welcome event for TC and have a brainstorming session about what Humboldt can do to become more sustainable. Green Campus is interested in providing this event with food.

 

Myself and the other Green Campus Program Coordinators discussed have a meet & greet followed by a brainstorming session that would be broken into tables centered around specific areas of sustainability: (Transportation, Energy, Food Systems, Waste, Procurement, etc.).  After the brainstorm we would have each group report back and tell us what is has happened in the past, what is already in the works, and what they would like to see in the future.  This way TC can become well acquainted with the various aspects of sustainability at HSU.

 

Let me know what you think about this welcome event. I would like to conduct as early in the semester as possible, perhaps the second  week in the semester?  Please let me know of any events that are going on that would conflict with this...I want to reserve a room by the end of next week so we can start advertising and inviting EVERYONE.  This could be the first big thing for the Coalition to host for the 07-08 school year, I am very excited about it!

 

TC is currently in Alec Cooley's (former Waste Manager of HSU) old office at the Plant of Operations building, but they hope to find him another home soon.
