I've got a NFT system running in my greenhouse and it gets HOT in there
in the summer.

OK, so it's advisable to keep the nutrients/reservoir at about 20 C/
70 F, but it's not quite practical if you're doing a summer greenhouse
grow. (res temp tends to be around 25-26 C)

Does anyone here use any 'remedies' ? pH adjusted ice cubes?
Ventilation fans? High priced refridgeration units?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone bothers with reservoir cooling, or
rather if it's even that critical.

Cheers!

25 c is fine for growing.

Higher heat reduces the nutrient solutions ability to hold and
therefore exchange oxygen. Its beneficial to have a 'drop' in the
return to the res to splash back which certainly helps incease the
oxygen level.

Beyond that a 10+ gallon igloo with 2 holes in the top for tubing or
pipes that feed a 25 / 50 foot loop in your res being fed by a power
head in the igloo filled with ice water will sure help keep the temps
down too.
