Congratulations to Rosa Alvarez!

We will honor her on Sunday, April 19 2026.   More information on tickets to come.   Please save the date!!!

Rosa is a great teacher and mentor. She is hard working and is always willing to help anyone in need. She is a great role model for new teachers and people aspiring to be a teacher.
Rosa is a great team player. She is always willing to assist others and she does it with a smile. She is kind and caring towards her coworkers and students. Rosa is awesome. I'm glad of had the privilege of know her many, many years as a friend and coworker.
Rosa Alvarez is a phenomenal teacher and deserves the educator of the year award for many reasons. Rosa creates a sanctuary of belonging where students’ home languages are celebrated as assets rather than obstacles to learning. Rosa acts as a cornerstone of the grade-level team by generously sharing her specialized bilingual resources and linguistic strategies, ensuring that all her colleagues feel equipped to support diverse learners effectively. Rosa's years of experience and knowledge allow her to mentor new staff and provide a consistent, steadying presence for the entire student body.
Ms. Alvarez has been a teacher for many years in different positions and has made a huge impact on students growth in teaching and supporting students with English as a second language. She is a very kind person and truly cares for students and I believe she is deserving of this award.
Rosa deserves to be Teacher of the Year because she has been such a personal inspiration to me since I first started working at Greene. I remember being so impressed by how organized and welcoming her classroom felt. She’s always happy, positive, and genuinely eager to help anyone who needs it. She brings such a warm energy that makes everyone around her feel supported.
Rosa Alvarez is a key component at Greene School. Ms. Alvarez is a head coordinator for our ACCESS testing and bilingual support. In addition, she is an educator that students look forward to seeing everyday. She has been an ideal mentor and has shaped my view in the field of education.
She is absolutely amazing with the children. Her patience is what gives these kids the room to grow and flourish.
Rosa consistently exceeds expectations in her support of students, faculty, and families. A quintessential team player, she approaches every challenge with a solution-oriented mindset and an unwavering positive attitude. Her dedication is further evidenced by her willingness to provide support beyond standard hours, earning her the profound respect and admiration of the entire school community.
To know Rosa is to know what true dedication looks like. For more than 10 years, she has been a steady, patient guide for students at Greene, helping them find the confidence to do their very best. She doesn't just teach; she learns alongside her colleagues and lifts everyone around her. Rosa is the first person to offer a kind word and a warm welcome to anyone walking through our doors. She deserves this recognition not just for her years of service, but for the heart and soul she pours into our school every single day
Ms. Alvarez has been a valuable asset to the Greene School family for over ten years. She has provided her knowledge and patience to our students and staff throughout the years and continues to do so. She has had many roles including 1st Grade teacher, MTSS Leader,
Bilingual Coordinator and many more responsibilities. She is professional and kind person and this why I choose Ms. Rosa Alvarez for Outstanding Educator of the Year.
Rosa is kind, knowledgeable and incredibly generous among her colleagues. With our school's students being primarily bilingual in English and Spanish, Rosa has been a pivotal member of our team. She helps EL's directly, and supports colleagues with resources and knowledge that will help our EL's learn and grow as best as possible. We are so lucky to have Ms. Alvarez at Greene School.
Rosa’s dedication to our students, families, and staff has been a cornerstone of the McKinley Park community. She is always offering a helping hand, and her impact is lasting; she has mentored generations of families, supporting them as their children grow and attend Greene. Her commitment to our parents and her leadership in our bilingual program have been essential to our school and community. We are truly grateful for her service.
I believe Rosa Alvarez deserves the outstanding educator award because of her commitment to help the students and colleagues. She is such an inspiration that her daughter is following her footsteps and becoming a teacher.
She is a great part of the Greene school community. She's always eager to help others and super passionate about teaching and supporting the kids. She is an important part of Greene and she definitely deserves this award!
Rosa Álvarez should be the McKinley park educator of the 2025-2026 school year because she not only teaches the students but all staff as well. Rosa Alvarez is always finding new and different ways to help anywhere she can. She has been a great mentor all year long to anyone who is willing to learn. Everyone can learn from Rosa Alvarez to be better in day to day activities in and out of school/work.
