Gate entrance

Hi Team, 

I hope everyone is doing well!! Just wanted to quickly update you all on the new small gate that was installed on Tuesday. Emily from ops will send a more detailed email this weekend but for now just know that it’s a temporary solution. I put the gate up on Tuesday as a deterrence for nonmembers who have been walking past the check-indesk and stealing from us. It’s been happening more frequently mostly with personal care items hence the store rearrangement. I installed the gate as temporary safety solution. I know it’s not much but it does require some fine motor skills to bring the latch down something that difficult to do when you are severely under the influence. Design and build is working on building a more permanent solution which would Involve a gate, a welcome bench and a new check-in desk. In the meantime, we have informed the police of the folks shoplifting and the security monitor is up and running.

Please know that member safety is the most important thing. If you do see someone shoplifting you are welcome to confront them,  call the police or not( leave me a detailed note and I can look back on the security cameras) or if you feel unsafe please don’t confront them. We have a few things to figure out as a community and progress is being made. I appreciate you all and am open to suggestions so please share any insights you have.
