Subject: Umatilla River cleanup and barbecue
Hello everyone,
The annual Umatilla River clean-up is this Saturday, Aug. 27 at 9 a.m.
starting at Stillman Park. Spend a couple hours strolling along the river (or in the river if you like), helping remove trash (gloves and bags provided) and then relax afterwards at a free barbecue at the park.
We've been helping with the clean-up for the last few years and it's a really fun and satisfying event ... and you never know what treasure you may find!
There's usually a variety of nice folks ... fishermen and women, birders, police officers, firefighters and general nature lovers.
Kids are welcome to help their parents, but bring along kid-sized gloves because the adult-sized smalls are usually too big.
Hope you will join us!
Kathryn, Andrew, Caleb and Erin
