Enjoy drinks while sharing in lively discussion about Issue 44 with
Ohio Citizen Action at Green Drinks Cincinnati 6 to 8 p.m. Friday,
Nov. 4 at Park + Vine, 1202 Main Street. Ohio Citizen Action Coal
Program Organizer Rachael Belz and Development Director Melissa
English will encourage attendees to vote yes on Issue 44 Nov. 8, 2011.

Ohio Citizen Action worked more than a decade ago to include electric
and gas aggregation in Ohio’s energy deregulation law. Passage of
Issue 44 would allow residential and small business customers in
Cincinnati to aggregate, also known as forming a community buying
group for electricity. By voting yes, voters are giving the city the
authority to create the community buying group. Cincinnati can
negotiate lower residential and small business electric rates, as well
as a preference for energy from cleaner sources, through the bidding
process.

Founded in 1975, Ohio Citizen Action is the state’s largest
environmental organization with 80,000 members. The group is nonprofit
and nonpartisan, and works to make concrete improvements in people’s
lives in and around Ohio.
